The Moot Point is an indie band based in the Morgantown area known for their video game covers and jazz. Having been a fan for a few years and knowing a few of its members, I was asked to help design the cover for their Live album that was recorded in the Fall. I was given a lot of creative freedoms with the only outline being to keep it simple and have a palette that matched the existing photo that would be used as the back cover. After asking a few questions I learned that their cover of Tetris was going to be on the album and knew that would be a great way to keep everything simplified while still having a jazz like feel. I used Milton Glazers Baby Teeth typeface to pair with the Tetris blocks and even made a Tetris-ified version of the bands logo of a man on a unicycle, to help it feel more consistent with the branding of the group.
